Today, the International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues (IOCE) has opened for the third time in the Sirius Federal Territory. This year, it brought together 80 young researchers and mentors from 14 countries around the world.

The main event of the Olympiad’s second day was the practical round. In the morning, the teams set off for one of the most picturesque trails of the Rosa Khutor resort — the lake traverse, where the field stage of the round took place.

On the third day of the Olympiad, the participants shifted their focus from research to cultural exchange. The day before, the teams had completed one of the most large-scale challenges — the practical round, which included field and laboratory stages. The teams completed a set of research tasks, and today they had the opportunity to rest and prepare for the next stage of the competition.

Today, the participants of the International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues tackled the individual stage of the theoretical round. They had to independently apply their knowledge to solving an environmental problem. The points they earn will determine their places in the individual standings.
